Why you should support PEF

PEF helps the private equity community and individuals make excellent and results-focused investments on a scale beyond any single donation. We carry out careful screening and due diligence, understand the social context in which charities operate and support them to become more effective. Very few individual firms and no individual donors would have the time or capability to do what we do.

PEF is the vehicle that facilitates and adds value to the private equity industry’s contribution towards this goal.

Additional ways to help

A central part of our support package for charities is the help we offer with strategic planning, change and business management and growth planning. If you or your staff are able to contribute in this respect, we can certainly find channels for effective engagement. Wherever possible we will give public recognition to this important work.

Examples of support in the last few months include:

  • Bridgepoint have provided a board member for the Board of Volunteer Reading Help.
  • Intermediate Capital Group and PwC have provided vital resources around strategic planning and financial training to our charities.
  • TPG’s staff have ‘adopted’ Community Links as their charity and help out in numerous different ways, including in an adventure playground.

Thank you

We are enormously grateful to all donors who helped us start the foundation in 2006 and who continue to support us. We also offer our sincere thanks to the new ‘patrons’: Individuals who have made substantial donations; which will ensure that we build longevity into the foundation. PEF’s progress so far has also been due to the staunch pro bono support of our supporters. Our thanks go to all of them: AMG, Ashurst, Bain & Company, Barclays Capital, Brunswick, Clifford Chance, Debevoise & Plimpton, Deloitte & Touche, FIN International, PricewaterhouseCoopers , Royal Bank of Scotland

“The Place2Be is proud to name Carl Parker, partner at Permira, as one of their most fervent supporters. At first, helping Carl understand exactly how The Place2BE provided emotional support to children in schools was the most important step towards ensuring that the partnership fulfilling its huge potential. From then on, the relationship has gone from strength to strength and we now count Carl as a key supporter and trusted advisor.

Through the Private Equity Foundation, not only have we received a substantial grant to help extend our reach and help more children, but we have established a relationship with Permira too. Thanks to Carl and Permira, The Place2Be has benefited from a generous donation of IT equipment for our new permanent head office, as well as pro bono support which is building up key capabilities within our management team.”
